Easy Paradise Island Pie Recipe

This fluffy pie has a no bake filling that features island flavors. The crust is thick and golden making it ideal to serve any time of year. How to make Paradise Island Pie: (Scroll down for full printable recipe.)

  • Crust – Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spritz the bottom of a 10-inch springform pan with cooking spray. Set aside. 
  • Toast Nuts – Spread macadamia nuts on a baking sheet and toast for 4-5 minutes,  Set aside for garnishing. 
  • Crust – Mix together crumbs, nuts, melted butter, coconut and 1/4 cup sugar. Press firmly onto the bottom and about 3/4 inches up the sides of the pan.
  • Bake crust for 16-18 minutes until golden and set. Cool completely.
  • Filling – Whip together both packages of Dream Whip with milk until stiff peaks form. Around 4-6 minutes.
  • Pudding – To the whipped cream add both boxes of pudding mix, remaining whole milk and vanilla extract. Continue to whip for an additional 3 minutes or until the mixture is fully thickened and slightly golden in color.
  • Pineapple – Use a large spoon or spatula and fold in the crushed pineapple and grated orange zest.
  • Transfer to Crust – Spread the filling over the cooled crust and smooth the top.
  • Place into the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours before cutting into pieces.
  • Before serving, frost the top with whipped topping. Sprinkle with orange zest and reserved toasted macadamia nuts.

How to Make the BEST Paradise Island Pie Recipe

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make Paradise Island Pie: Macadamia nuts, vanilla wafer crumbs, butter, shredded sweetened coconut, granulated sugar, dry whipped topping mix i.e. Dream Whip contains 2 packages – use both, whole milk, instant coconut cream pudding mix, crushed pineapple well drained, orange zest, pure vanilla extract and frozen whipped topping thawed.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: Hand mixer or stand mixer, large bowl, medium bowl, measuring cups and spoons, sheet pan, sharp knife and cutting board nut chopper, 10 inch springform pan.
  • The crust is made with vanilla wafers, macadamia nuts and sweetened flaked coconut. Baking the crust not only allows it to set, but it also toasts the ingredients, bringing the flavors together. Let it cool completely before filling.
  • The fluffy filling is made with coconut cream pudding, crushed pineapple and fresh orange zest mixed with whipped topping. If you’re unable to find coconut cream instant pudding, you can substitute with vanilla or cheesecake flavored and add sweetened flaked coconut, instead.
  • This pie has a robust citrus flavor. You may adjust the amount of orange zest to your liking.
  • After spreading the filling over the cooled crust, give it ample time at least 4-6 hours to chill before cutting.
  • Store Paradise Island Pie chilled in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

    1. I don’t, I assemble the entire pie in the pan and chill to allow it to set before removing the outer ring.

  3. I am wondering if you think this would work with Almonds in place of the macadamias just because we don’t really care for them. This pie looks divine and I would really like to try it with the exception of the macadamia nuts.
