How to Make the BEST Barbecue Chicken Bacon French Bread Pizza

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make homemade Barbecue Chicken Bacon French Bread Pizza: One French bread loaf, melted butter, garlic salt, onion powder, chopped rotisserie chicken, barbecue sauce, red onion, cooked bacon, shredded colby jack or cheddar cheese, grated Parmesan cheese and cilantro.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: A large sheet pan, sharp knife and chopping board, measuring cups and spoons and cheese grater.
  • The flavor of this french bread pizza is directly affected by the flavor of the barbecue sauce and seasoning that you use.
  • If mesquite is your pleasure choose those notes when using the barbecue seasoning and sauce. If you prefer sweet heat, a sauce like a honey chipotle is a real winning flavor combo. Adapt and be creative, it’s your party.
  • There’s no wrong amount of bacon, in my opinion. Add more or less, to your personal taste.
  • The same rule works for shredded cheese. You can use your favorite flavor of cheese and adjust the amount to your liking.
  • You can use any cooked chicken for this french bread. Poached chicken, roasted chicken, grilled chicken or fried chicken.
  • From time to time, I add pickled jalapenos and black olives to this french bread pizza. Feel free to add any of your favorite toppings.
  • The amount of servings depends entirely upon the appetites of those you’re serving. When sliced into 2 inch pieces, each french bread half will yield around 8 pieces. If I’m serving this as an appetizer, then one piece counts as a serving. As a main dish, at least 2 pieces, likely more when feeding my boys. Divide according to how you plan on serving.
  • Store Barbecue Chicken French Bread wrapped in foil after cooling. Reheat in single servings in the microwave or in an air fryer.
  • You can also reheat on a sheet pan in a 375°F oven just until heated through.
