Easy Barbecue Chicken Pizza Recipe

This quick and easy pizza is made only easier when you grab a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store (or Costco!). Drizzle it with your favorite barbecue sauce and assemble a delicious meal in minutes. How to make Barbecue Chicken and Bacon Pizza: (Scroll down for full printable recipe.)

  • Prepare Pan – Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment.
  • Pizza Dough – Shape the dough into a 13×9 inch rectangle on the pan.
  • Sauce – Spread 1/3 cup barbecue sauce over the pizza crust.
  • Toppings – Arrange the chicken, onion, jalapeno slices and bacon crumbles on top. Season with garlic salt and black pepper to taste.
  • Drizzle the remaining sauce on top and sprinkle with colby-Jack cheese.
  • Bake – Bake per the recipe until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden. Garnish with chopped cilantro and a sprinkle of shredded Parmesan cheese.
  • Serve hot.

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make homemade Barbecue Chicken and Bacon Pizza: One pound homemade pizza dough or [13.4] oz tube refrigerated pizza dough [i.e. Pillsbury Classic], barbecue sauce, rotisserie chicken, bacon, thinly sliced red onion, pickled jalapeno, shredded Colby-Jack Cheese, fresh cilantro, garlic salt and black pepper and shredded Parmesan cheese.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: One 16 inch pizza pan or classic sheet pan, measuring cups and spoons, medium bowl, cheese grater, fork and pizza cutter.
  • I make this pizza with refrigerated crust in a rectangle. You can make it using homemade pizza dough as well. Please note, the baking time may be longer when using homemade pizza dough.
  • You can add flavor to the pizza depending on the barbecue sauce that you use. If you like it it spicy choose a chipotle barbecue sauce. If you like a milder flavor choose a classic or honey barbecue sauce. If you like the flavor of the sauce then you’ll be good to go.
  • You can add more jalapenos or omit them altogether depending on your personal preference.
  • Store baked Barbecue Chicken and Bacon Pizza chilled in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in a preheated 375°F oven or in single servings in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1 [1 lb] round of homemade pizza dough or [13.4] oz tube refrigerated pizza dough [i.e. Pillsbury Classic]
  • 2/3 cup prepared barbecue sauce your favorite
  • 1 1/2 cups rotisserie chicken roughly chopped
  • 6 slices bacon cooked & crumbled
  • 1/3 cup thinly sliced red onion
  • 12 slices pickled jalapeno peppers more or less to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Colby-Jack Cheese
  • 2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro
  • Garlic salt & Black pepper
  • Shredded Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment.
  • Shape the dough into a 13×9 inch rectangle. Spread 1/3 cup bbq sauce over the pizza crust.
