This breakfast inspired Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza is a delicious start to the day. It comes together with scrambled egg whites, turkey sausage and low fat cheese it’s still delicious and flavorful!

Easy Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza

This recipe is designed to keep things simple hence the reason I opted for a refrigerated pizza crust. If you prefer making your own crust from scratch, checkout my recipe for the best homemade Pizza Dough.

  • Prepare Pan – Preheat the oven to 425°F. Spritz a 12 inch pizza pan with cooking spray.
  • Dough – Press the pizza dough evenly into the pan.
  • Crust – Brush the entire crust with the melted butter and sprinkle with 1/2 of the shredded cheese.
  • Eggs – In a medium size skillet over medium heat soft scramble the eggs. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste. Set aside.
  • Assemble – Drop spoonfuls of the cooked egg over the cheese. Arrange the peppers, onions and sausage over the eggs and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. 
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes until the crust is golden around the edges.
  • Garnish with chopped chives or thinly sliced green onion top.

How to Make the BEST Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza Recipe

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make Sausage and Egg Breakfast Pizza: Refrigerated pizza dough or 1lb homemade pizza dough, whole eggs or egg whites, salt, black pepper, shredded sharp cheddar or colby-jack cheese, turkey or pork sausage, red onion, green pepper, butter.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: Pizza pan or sheet pan, skillet, cheese grater, measuring cups and spoons, pizza wheel, sharp knife and chopping board.
  • You can use 6 whole eggs scrambled per the recipe in place of egg whites.
  • Classic butter or light butter works beautifully.
  • You can use turkey sausage or pork sausage for the topping.
  • If you use homemade pizza dough the baking time will need to be adjusted. The time in the recipe is for refrigerated pizza dough.
  • Store Sausage Egg and Cheese Breakfast Pizza chilled in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheat in an air fryer or the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1 13.8 oz can refrigerated pizza dough or 1lb homemade pizza dough
  • 16 oz egg whites OR 6 large eggs
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar or colby-jack cheese divided
  • 1 cup cooked and crumbled turkey or pork sausage
  • 1/3 cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup green pepper thinly sliced
  • 3 Tbsp light butter melted

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Spritz a 12 inch pizza pan with cooking spray. Press the dough onto the pan.
  • Brush the entire crust with the melted butter and sprinkle with 1/2 of the shredded cheese.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium size skillet over medium heat soft scramble the eggs. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste. Set aside.
  • Drop spoonfuls of the cooked eggs over the cheese. Arrange the peppers, onions and sausage over the eggs and season with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle remaining cheese on top. 
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes until the crust is golden around the edges.
  • Garnish with chopped chives or thinly sliced green onion tops.

Notes

You can substitute cooked crumbled bacon, Canadian bacon or ham in place of the sausage crumbles. For a meatless version, try adding mushrooms instead.

    I saved this recipe some time ago and just got around to making it. What was I waiting for?! It’s the perfect start to the day and my teenagers ate it in no time flat.
