Calico Bean Bake Today on Parade:
Calico Bean Bake – Calico bean bakes are a classic potluck casserole dish. At a summer picnic, they’re as popular as hot dogs, fried chicken and watermelon. As with any dish, cooks often put their own spin on the ingredients adjusting the seasonings to their personal taste and liking. Most calico bean bakes feature a trio of pork-n-beans, red kidney beans and baby lima or butter beans. These beans are practically a meal in themselves when served over a hot buttered corn muffin. They can be cooked in a conventional oven, in a slow cooker or over an open fire in a Dutch oven for a hearty camping meal.

Melissa this sounds great and I will certainly give this recipe a try. My mom used to make her “famous” beans with salami and seasonings similar to yours.

I love the idea of using salami, thanks for sharing that little tidbit!
