While I most often cook all of our meals at home, every cook needs a break from time to time don’t they? One of our favorite places to go is to our local Texas Roadhouse. Their menu suits the whole family’s taste and those rolls are to die for. I’m not sure they would be quite as delicious without that sweet and spicy cinnamon butter to set them apart from the rest of the pack. Needless to say, we always want to make friends with our waitress so she’ll keep them coming hot and fresh from the kitchen.   • Whip Ingredients – Using an electric mixer whip together butter, powdered sugar, honey, cinnamon and vanilla in a medium-size mixing bowl until fully combined. Taste and adjust sweetness to taste.
  • Chill – May scoop into individual servings, place on wax paper and chill until firm. Otherwise, place into an airtight container and chill for at least 1 hour prior to serving. Store chilled.

This recipe is about as easy as they come as it needs so very few ingredients. It can easily be adapted to make a double or triple batch, too.

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make this recipe for Texas Roadhouse Cinnamon Butter: Salted butter, honey, powdered sugar, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: A medium mixing bowl, a mixer, measuring cups and spoons.
  • Before you begin, it’s important to give ample time for the butter to soften prior to whipping it for the best blending of the ingredients. It seems like a small step, but it’s important for the ingredients to fully combine.
  • Should you decide to double the recipe, you should pull back just a bit on the cinnamon and don’t start with double the amount. Add 1 teaspoon then stop and taste and adjust the amount from there.
  • Honey has a very robust flavor and can overtake the other ingredients if you add too much. If you’d like to add more, start with 1 tablespoon at a time to avoid adding too much.
  • You can whip this butter up in a couple of minutes and use it immediately should you choose to. Otherwise, make it and let it chill for at least one hour or overnight to allow the flavors time to marry.
  • Store cinnamon butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • You can also freeze this cinnamon butter for up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator prior to serving.

  1. I cannot wait to try this! I had found another recipe for this and saved it for years and finally tried it….twice!…only to be disappointed….twice! You have way less honey listed than the recipe I had and I think that was the issue. I had to dump both batches as it had just an overwhelming taste of honey…I thought I had bad butter the first time. It called for 8 oz of honey…rest of recipe was pretty similar.

    1. Hi Pam, 8 ounces does sound like a generous amount of honey but, I suppose it depends on how much of the other ingredients were being used. I hope you enjoy this one.

      1. The ingredients were double yours but if you doubled your honey, its still more than yours, right? 4 TBSP is less than 8 oz right? I don’t know my measurements unless I look them up. Also, it didn’t have vanilla like yours, would that made a difference?
