Slow Cooked Fiesta Barbecue Country Style Ribs
These country ribs are large and meaty and the perfect cut for slow cooking. The slow cooking process lends the ideal environment for the meat to become tender, flavorful and melt in your mouth delicious. Slow cooking and barbecue go hand in hand, don't they? These country style ribs are perfect for slow cooking and no browning required!

Helpful Tips
- The spice rub used can be made with your favorite taco seasoning, or taco seasoning blend. Take am oment to rub each rib with a fragrant paste before placing into the slow cooker.

- You can enjoy them on a kaiser roll, on tortillas with your favorite taco toppings or alongside a loaded baked potato with creamy cilantro lime coleslaw.
- We enjoy them from time to time on a bed of rice pilaf, but, there's no way you can go wrong, with these tender ribs.

Slow Cooked Fiesta Barbecue Country Style Ribs
Servings: 8 servings
Calories: 414kcal
Ingredients
- 3-3 ½ lbs boneless country style ribs
- 2 tablespoon fresh orange juice
- 1 tablespoon fiesta or taco seasoning [I used Weber]
- 1 tablespoon barbecue seasoning [I used Barbecue Magic]
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- orange zest [optional]
- 2 cups barbecue sauce [use your favorite]
Instructions
- Spray the inside of a 6 quart slow cooker with cooking spray and set it on the low setting.
- In a small mixing bowl, mix the orange juice, olive oil, brown sugar and seasonings to form a paste. Drizzle the ribs with the paste, then rub it evenly into each rib on all sides.
- Arrange the ribs in the bottom of the slow cooker and top with the orange zest. Cover and cook on Low for 6 hours or until pull apart tender.
- After 6 hours, uncover and drain the liquid from the slow cooker. Drizzle two cups of your favorite barbecue sauce over the ribs.
- Cover and cook on low for an additional 1-2 hours, then keep warm until serving.
- Enjoy over rice pilaf, on tortillas or a kaiser roll with a side of creamy coleslaw.

For these ribs I used Anna Mae's Smokey Sweet Sauce made by Robert Rothschild Farm.
