1lbfresh or frozen brussel sprouts, halved(if frozen, thawed)
2-3Tbspolive oil
2Tbspbalsamic vinegar OR teriyaki sauce
1tspgarlic salt or plain salt
1tspblack pepper
1tspgranulated garlic
1tspgranulated sugar
shredded or grated Parmesan cheese for garnishing
Instructions
Preheat the Air Fryer 375°F (190°C) for Brussels sprouts.
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: Trim fresh brussels sprouts and thaw if using frozen. (If your frozen Brussels sprouts are clumped together, give them a quick shake or tap to separate them. This will help them cook more evenly.)
Place brussels sprouts in a medium mixing bowl. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. (Teriyaki also works!) Toss to coat then season with garlic salt, black pepper granulated garlic and sugar. Toss again to coat then add additional oil, to taste.
Arrange in air fryer basket in a single layer. Avoid overcrowding to ensure proper air circulation and even cooking. If needed, cook the brussels sprouts in batches.
Cook the brussels sprouts at 375°F (190°C) for about 15-20 minutes stopping halfway through to shake the basket and turn for even browning.
Test with the tip of a knife for doneness. They should be crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. If you prefer them extra crispy, you can cook them for a few more minutes.
Transfer air-fried Brussels sprouts to a serving dish. You can sprinkle a bit more salt and pepper and garnish with shredded or grated Parmesan cheese, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
How to Make Brussels Sprouts in the Oven:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Line a large sheet pan with foil and spray liberally with cooking spray or brush with olive oil. Set aside.
Follow the recipe for seasoning and coating brussels sprouts with olive oil.
Arrange cut side down on the prepared sheet pan.
Bake for 15 minutes, then flip. Continue to cook for another 10-15 minutes or until fork tender and lightly charred.
You can brown further at the end of baking using the broiler.
Serve garnished with shredded or grated Parmesan cheese.
