Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 lb 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 10 3/4 oz can low sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp cumin
  • few dashes hot sauce

Instructions

  • In a large 12 inch skillet heat olive oil over medium high heat. Add ground beef and onion. Cook until no pink remains. Drain excess fat from pan.
  • Add beef broth, ketchup, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, chili, garlic salt, paprika, ground mustard, pepper flakes, celery salt, cumin and hot sauce. Mix well.
  • Simmer uncovered on low for 20-30 minutes until slightly reduced, stirring occasionally. Serve on hot dogs with additional toppings, as desired.
  • Store leftovers frozen for up to 2 months.
