chopped Italian parsley and lemon slices for garnishing
Instructions
If using frozen salmon filets, thaw them according to the package instructions before starting.
Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a rimmed sheet pan with heavy duty aluminum foil. Crimp the edges to create a “boat”.
In a small bowl combine melted butter and minced garlic. In a separate small bowl combine light brown sugar, Italian seasoning, seasoned salt, lemon pepper, paprika, granulated garlic and onion powder.
Brush salmon filets on both sides with 1/2 of the garlic butter and sprinkle each side with the seasonings. Arrange salmon filets on the pan skin side down. Drizzle with remaining garlic butter.
Bake salmon for 15-20 minutes or until it easily flakes with a fork and the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
Serve immediately garnished with parsley and lemon slices.
Notes
For this recipe you can use one 2-pound whole salmon filet or four single cut filets.
When properly baked, salmon should be moist and flaky. The texture is delicate but not mushy, with the fish easily breaking into chunks with a fork. Overcooking can lead to dryness, so achieving the right balance is key. Adjust the cooking time based on the thickness of the salmon you're using.
