Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz chive and onion cream cheese softened
  • 1/4 cup dill pickle juice
  • 1 16 oz container sour cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1.0 oz packet ranch seasoning mix
  • 1 1/2 cups diced dill pickles
  • 1 1/2 cup crushed french fried onions divided use
  • fresh dill

Instructions

  • In a medium bowl use an electric hand mixer to whip together the cream cheese and dill pickle juice.
  • Add the sour cream and ranch seasoning. Whip on medium-high speed for 2 minutes or until smooth and fully combined.
  • By hand fold in the diced pickles and Parmesan cheese until evenly distributed. Cover and chill for 2 hours.
  • Just before serving, fold 3/4 cup crushed french fried onions into the dip.
  • Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish the top with the reserved fried onions and fresh dill.
  • Serve immediately with thick-cut chips, crackers or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

    • Spicy Fried Pickle Dip: Add diced jalapeños, a dash of hot sauce, or crushed red pepper flakes for those who like a little heat with their tang.
    • Bacon Fried Pickle Dip: Add crumbled crispy bacon. Bacon makes everything better. The smoky crunch adds an awesome twist.
    • Garlic-Dill Pickle Dip: Add 2-3 fresh cloves garlic (finely minced) and extra dill to amplify the classic pickle flavor.
    • Sweet and Spicy Pickle Dip: Use sweet pickles or bread-and-butter pickles, and add a pinch of cayenne.
    • Avocado Pickle Dip: Add mashed avocado for a creamy, green twist.
    • Vegan Fried Pickle Dip: Use dairy-free cream cheese, vegan mayo, and plant-based ranch seasoning, great for plant-based guests.
    • Chive and Onion Cream Cheese: You could use an 8 ounce container of plain spreadable cream cheese adding onion powder to intensify the flavor.
    • Breadcrumb Topping: For a crunchy twist, toast panko bread crumbs with a bit of melted butter and sprinkle them on top just before serving as a substitute for French fried onions. Prefer to keep it simple? You can skip the topping entirely.
    • Dill: You could sprinkle the top with fresh chives or parsley.
