1tspcornstarch dissolved in 2 teaspoons of cold water (cornstarch slurry)
Instructions
Blot the ham steaks dry with a paper towel. Drizzle a large skillet with olive oil or vegetable oil. Over medium heat brown the ham steaks for 1-2 minutes on each side. Remove from the skillet to a platter. Wipe the skillet clean with paper towels.
To the skillet add the butter, melt over medium-high heat. Next, add the orange marmalade, orange juice, light brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic, onion powder, ground ginger and cloves. Stir and simmer lightly bubbling just until the sugar had dissolved.
Lower the heat to medium adding the ham steaks back to the skillet, flip to coat with the glaze. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes per side or just until heated through.
Remove ham steaks to a platter. Increase the temperature to medium-high and whisk in the cornstarch slurry. Simmer just until thickened to a syrup consistency. (Tip: You can repeat 1 teaspoon cornstarch dissolved in cold water whisking it into the sauce until the thickness suits your taste.)
Serve ham steaks immediately drizzled with the orange glaze.
