  • 1 can refrigerated thin or classic pizza crust or 1 lb homemade pizza dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded pepper jack cheese divided
  • 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning divided
  • 1/2 cup prepared fire roasted pizza sauce [I used Classico]
  • 1-2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2-3/4 lb fresh andouille sausage
  • 16-18 medium raw shrimp peeled deveined, tails removed
  • 2 Tbsp thinly sliced fresh basil

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Spray a 12 inch round pizza pan with cooking spray and press the pizza crust evenly onto the pan.
  • Mix 1/4 teaspoon of creole seasoning [or more to your taste] with the pizza sauce and spread over the crust.
  • Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of shredded pepper jack cheese.
  • Remove the casings from the andouille sausage, slice and cube.
  • In a stove top pan, brown the sausage in 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil. Cook for 3-4 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  • Toss the shrimp with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of creole seasoning, then saute in the sausage drippings for about 20 seconds then remove from the heat.
  • Spread the cooked andouille sausage evenly over the pizza crust and arrange the shrimp on top.
  • Sprinkle with the remaining 1 cup of shredded pepper jack cheese.
  • Bake for 16-17 minutes, until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  • Sprinkle with the sliced fresh basil.
  • Serve hot.
