Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 4 large cloves garlic minced
  • 1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper OR crushed red pepper flakes
  • 3/4 cup Italian seasoned panko bread crumbs OR plain panko breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup whole milk

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment and fit with an oven safe rack sprayed with cooking spray Set aside.
  • To a large bowl add the ground beef and Italian sausage, onion, minced garlic, Italian seasoning salt and black pepper. With clean hands or a wooden spoon, mix everything together.
  • To the bowl add the Panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, and milk, mixing to fully combine.
  • Use a 1 1/2 Tbsp cookie scoop or meatball scoop to divide the meatball mixture. Roll them into tight balls. Arrange on the rack without touching.
  • Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes just until the exterior is browned, and a meat thermometer inserted into the center reads 165°F.
  • Serve immediately over cooked pasta drizzled with alfredo sauce, marinara sauce or with picks as an appetizer.
