Ingredients

  • 8 1/2 inch thick boneless pork chops
  • 1 tsp seasoned salt divided (plus additional for seasoning pork chops)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 3 Tbsp whole milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2/3 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp granulated garlic or garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp lemon pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry Italian seasoning
  • cooking spray or oil sprayer

Instructions

  • Preheat air fryer to 375°F for 5 minutes. (If yours doesn't require preheating, skip this step.)
  • Set Up a Dredging Station: In a shallow bowl, beat together eggs, milk, ¼ tsp salt and ¼ tsp black pepper.
  • In a separate shallow bowl or plate whisk together breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, granulated garlic, onion powder, lemon pepper, 3/4 tsp salt and Italian seasoning.
  • Season each pork chop lightly with seasoned salt to your taste, then dip each pork chop into the beaten egg wash.
  • Dredge chops in seasoned bread crumbs. Press the bread crumbs firmly onto each pork chop. Arrange on a pan while air fryer preheats.
  • Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  • Spray pork chop breading liberally on all sides with cooking spray or using an oil mister with olive oil or vegetable oil. Arrange pork chops in basket of air fryer in a single layer without touching. (Cook in batches, if needed.)
  • Cook pork chops until golden brown, 12-15 minutes or until an instant-read thermometer reads 145°F.
  • Carefully turn halfway through cooking and spritz with additional cooking spray, try not to disturb breading.
  • Remove from air fryer and keep warm. Repeat process with remaining chops.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, then serve.

Notes

  • Bone-In Pork Chops - You can air fry bone-in pork chops but they will take longer to fry. Thin pork chops will cook quicker and 1-inch pork chops will take longer to cook. Cook until the internal temperature of the pork chops reaches 145°F.
  • Fresh Herbs - You can add fresh rosemary or thyme to the breadcrumb mixture.
  • Spray Liberally with Oil - You can use cooking spray or an oil mister with olive oil or vegetable oil to coat the pork chops prior to frying. When spritzing the breaded pork chops with oil, it's important to cover every inch of breading. If you don't, those areas tend to get really dark and burn. Repeat, when turning.
  • Easy Clean-Up - You can line the bottom of the air fryer with parchment paper or use a basket insert to prevent sticking. When doing so, add it just before placing the pork chops into the air fryer to prevent it from blowing around.
  • Fry in Batches - If the pork chops are large, it's best to cook the chops in batches, frying similar size pieces together for even cooking. Keep them warm between batches on a sheet pan in a 200 degree f oven.
  • Spices - You can use paprika for a smoky flavor or use Cajun seasoning to give these pork chops a Cajun flavor twist. You can also use black pepper in place of lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Side Dishes - Pork chops go so well with a plethora of side dishes. Stuffed sweet potatoes, green beans, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, pasta, rice or any of your favorite comfort food side dishes.
