  1. I used boneless chicken breasts and my own bbq sauce recipe. I honestly just used onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper on both sides of the chicken. Followed the baking directions. Once the 35 minutes were up I transferred the chicken to a lined baking sheet sprayed with olive oil and slathered on the bbq sauce. Finished with broiling. Great recipe. Thank you.

This is now my go to recipe for bbq chicken. We don’t even bother with the grill anymore because this is actually better, and never dried out. I use a combo of bbq spices, McCormick bbq seasoning, and Weber kick’n chicken for some heat, Sweet Baby Ray’s sauce. I’ve been serving with some version of cheesy potatoes. Super yummy!

  3. I have made this recipe twice, and the first time it was okay, the second time was great! The first time I used a sweet bbq sauce because that was what I had–the second time I used a spicy sauce–what a huge difference! The second time I also used 1 cup of bbq sauce and the specified amounts of honey and ketchup because I wanted more of a barbeque flavor. I cooked for exactly 45 minutes and the chicken was just cooked through and very tender. It’s so simple–you can’t go wrong with this recipe.

I’m not much of a chef so I’m always googling recipes. This is easy to follow and I’m told tasted great. I’m a vegetarian but believe by the clean plate club it was a hit.

Oops! Guess I forgot to follow up. It was very good and I’ve made it twice now! It’s so great to be able to eat bbq chicken any old time instead of having to wait for someone to grill (and burn) it!
