Sesame Beef and Broccoli and Chipotle BBQ Chicken Tacos
They reached out to me and asked if I would try them and develop a couple of recipe ideas to share with you. As a busy Mom, I know firsthand how hectic life can be and tasty quick meals are always a welcome relief when it comes to planning dinner. I stopped by my local Walmart and found the skillet sauces in the "Sauce and Gravy Mixes" section. The sauces come with a custom recipe on the package but, I wanted to think a little outside of the box. These two recipes Sesame Beef And Broccoli And Chipotle BBQ Chicken Tacos turned out quite tasty and came together with ease using two of the new skillet sauces as a flavor base.
Round #1: Sesame Beef & Broccoli with Onion Stir-Fry
I wanted to stick with the concept of keeping things simple, so I thought I might try a beef dish using McCormick Sesame Chicken Stir Fry Skillet Sauce. It's better than take-out and came together in a snap.
Ingredients you'll need:
3 cup fresh broccoli florets
1 small sweet onion, thinly sliced
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes [more or less to taste]
salt and black pepper
olive oil
1 ¼ lb thin cut beef for stir fry
3 clove garlic, minced
1 [9] oz package McCormick Sesame Chicken Stir-Fry Skillet Sauce
toasted sesame seeds
cooked jasmine or basmati rice
Directions:
On the stove top in a large skillet heat a few drizzles of olive oil. Add the broccoli florets, onion and red pepper flakes. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste. Saute over medium-high heat for around 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and crisp tender. Remove to a platter.
Heat more oil and add the beef to the pan. Season with salt and black pepper to your taste. Cook over medium-high for 4-5 minutes browning the meat on both sides, cooking until tender. Add the minced garlic and stir-fry sauce.
Lower the heat to medium and add the broccoli and onion back to the skillet. Simmer until heated through and the garlic has cooked. Stir well until all of the ingredients are evenly coated with sauce. Serve over rice garnished with toasted sesame seeds. Yield: 4 servings

¼ cup chicken broth or water
corn tortillas
Assorted toppings: shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, bacon crumbles, pico de gallo, roasted sweet corn salsa
