It’s designed to be an easy low stress dessert that’s made much like fluff desserts using instant pudding and mini marshmallows.   • Pudding Mix – One box instant banana pudding mix and one box of instant vanilla pudding mix gives the dip a balanced flavor.
  • Liquid – Three cups half and half to make the pudding.
  • Flavoring – Vanilla extract amps up the flavor.
  • Cream Cheese – One block of Neufchatel or regular cream cheese stabilizes the dip.
  • Bananas – Four medium bananas. Ripe, firm, bananas work best.
  • Marshmallows – Mini marshmallows add dimension and flavor.
  • Whipped Cream – Frozen whipped topping, thawed makes the dip super creamy.
  • ‘Nilla Wafers – Crushed vanilla wafers for the dip and whole vanilla wafers for serving.

How to Make the Best Banana Pudding Dip Recipe

This easy dip recipe is a fantastic option to add to the menu especially handy when you’re plans include several desserts. Two bites desserts give the sweets fans the opportunity to try several whether it’s for game day snacks, family gatherings or the holidays or picnics alongside cookies and brownies.

  • Make the Vanilla Pudding – Using an electric mixer whip together both instant pudding mixes with the half and half and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until thickened but still pourable.
  • Cream Cheese – Add 8 ounces cream cheese and continue to whip until completely smooth and no lumps remain in the cream cheese mixture.
  • Fold in Bananas – By hand mix the banana chunks, marshmallows, whip topping and crushed vanilla wafers into the pudding mixture.
  • Transfer to Dish – Pour into a serving dish and frost the top with the remaining whipped topping.

Ingredients

  • 1 3.4 oz box instant banana pudding
  • 1 3.4 oz box instant vanilla pudding
  • 3 cups half and half
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 8 oz block Neufchatel or regular cream cheese, softened
  • 4 medium bananas cubed
  • 3 cups mini marshmallows
  • 1 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 1/2 cup roughly crushed vanilla wafers
  • Whole vanilla wafers for dipping

Instructions

  • Using a stand or hand mixer in a large bowl whip together both pudding mixes with the half and half and vanilla until thickened but still pourable.
  • To the bowl add the cream cheese and continue to whip until completely smooth and no lumps remain in the cream cheese mixture.
  • By hand, stir in the banana chunks, marshmallows, 2/3 whipped topping and crushed vanilla wafers. Reserve 1 Tbsp crushed vanilla wafers to sprinkle on top.
  • Pour into a serving dish and frost the top with the remaining whipped topping. Garnish with vanilla wafer crumbs.
  • Refrigerate covered for 2-4 hours before serving with whole vanilla wafers for dipping.

  1. When cutting bananas using a plastic knife bananas will not brown so quick instead of a metal knife. L do and it does work well.

  2. Many of your recipies I have read look incredibly delicious but I am a diabetic and have high blood pressure so I have to watch my intake of sugar and salt but do not see any nutrition info. Am I overlooking it or do you not provide it? Many times both salt and sugar are hidden by manufacturers in ingredients. Thank you.

      I use sugar free banana pudding mix and reduced fat milk instead of half and half to make it a little more diabetic friendly.

    Easy and quite the crowd pleaser. I serve it with a variety of cookies. Although, I make it very close to serving time as bananas just don’t last long – kind of like avocados.
    Even my 20 something nephew asked for the recipe!

  5. If I make it tonight, to eat tomorrow.. will the wafers and marshmallows get soggy and bananas turn brown?

  6. Could this be made with whipped cream instead of whipped topping? I have a daughter-in-law that is allergic to all things coconut. Whipped topping is made with coconut oil.

    1. Sure, or you could leave them out. This variation is a dip and meant to be fun hence the mini marshmallows for texture.
