Easy Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls Recipe

I love having sons, they’re easy to please when it comes to meal planning. I learned rather quickly that whatever I plan to make there should be plenty of it. I’m delighted that they love leftovers and I never hear a complaint from them when we have a repeat dinner. I often try to reinvent leftovers a bit but at times it’s an encore presentation of the original. That’s how these Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls came to be using leftover roasted chicken. They enjoyed it so much that I began picking up deli chicken to make them as a grab-and-go meal. It worked like a charm and has now become one of our favorites.

How to Make the Best Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls Recipe

These rolls aren’t difficult to make and they’re certain to become a family favorite for snacking on game day or quick casual meals.

  • Ingredients you’ll need to make Easy Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls: One package of 12  count potato rolls, thinly sliced deli chicken, Ranch dressing, crumbled bacon, colby jack cheese, melted butter, fresh chives, garlic salt, grated Parmesan cheese.
  • Kitchen tools you’ll need: A sharp knife and cutting board, baking pan, measuring cups and spoons, a small microwave safe bowl, pastry brush and cheese grater.
  • You can also use Hawaiian sweet tolls or any similar size pull apart rolls for this recipe.
  • I use deli chicken for this recipe for ease of preparation. That said, you can use leftover grilled chicken, roasted chicken, rotisserie chicken or shredded chicken breasts with excellent results.
  • You can adapt using your favorite flavor of cheese or what you have on hand. The colby jack combination is a stellar option, when using it you can never go wrong.
  • Since these gooey rolls are designed to be pulled apart, it’s important to use crumbled bacon in place of whole pieces so they can be pulled apart more easily.
  • Feel free to use light butter, low fat cheese and light salad dressing to lower the calories, I’ve found they work beautifully, too.
  • These rolls can be assembled in advance, covered with plastic wrap and chilled. Doing so will have them ready to be baked when you’re ready to eat.
  • When making in advance, brush with melted butter and season the top per the recipe just before baking.
  • You can serve them with a side of fresh vegetables and extra Ranch dressing for dipping to round out a scrumptious handheld meal.
  • Another way to enjoy this flavor combination are these BLT Ranch Chicken Wraps from Taste and Tell for a quick lunch.

I made these for a huge get together and I had 5 people that asked for the recipe. They are unbelievably easy to make and dang, can we say YUMMY? Thank you for sharing this recipe.

  2. Very good , But I would recommend shredded chicken. if you layer deli chicken, when you pull a roll away giant slices come with it leaving no chicken on other sliders. Or chop up the deli sliced chicken. Very good though.

    1. While you could use any chicken for this recipe, please note it does state in the recipe, you should cut along the edges of the rolls to separate for serving.

Really good tasting but found it to be very salty. Will make it again, replace the garlic salt in the butter for the top of the rolls with garlic powder and only put on one piece of cheese.

    1. Salt is completely subjective so, you can certainly adapt. Keep in mind, the cheese is the glue that holds it all together, for future reference.

      1. Hi!! So I have made these twice now and they are so delicious but the buns get really hard from putting them in the oven, do you have any tips or tricks for them to stay soft??
        Thank you!

      2. Hi Carissa, are you covering them? If so, they shouldn’t become too hard. You may choose to skip uncovering at the end of baking, or shorten the length of time they’re baked uncovered to just a few minutes.

  7. We have finger foods for Christmas Eve. and I was looking for something new to add to the menu. These look perfect. I can’t wait to try them.

This year everyone wanted to spend less and make homemade gifts. I made this for everyone so that they can wake up Christmas morning and put in oven for a great snack or meal. Then they can enjoy the day with family and friends.

These were amazing. I used some leftover rotisserie chicken on them and everyone loved them. Thanks for the great recipe.

This is so good! I used Buffalo chicken slices and it gave them just a little kick. I will make these regularly for get togethers in the future!

    1. I used thinly sliced deli chicken for this recipe as I don’t care for pre-packaged. That being said, from time to time, I’ve used rotisserie chicken (I love those Costco chickens!) and left-over grilled or roasted chicken thinly sliced. If you have packaged chicken on hand go for it, it’s delicious any way you go.

This recipe was a big hit with my family. I used Hawaiian rolls and turkey because that’s what I had. My family has already requested this recipe again.

I’ve made these twice using Hawaiin rolls, once with Sliced cheddar and once and shredded Colby jack…and both were amazing. Throw in salad and air fried sweet potato fries; one of my nephews favorite meals.
