Easy Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls Recipe
I love having sons, they’re easy to please when it comes to meal planning. I learned rather quickly that whatever I plan to make there should be plenty of it. I’m delighted that they love leftovers and I never hear a complaint from them when we have a repeat dinner. I often try to reinvent leftovers a bit but at times it’s an encore presentation of the original. That’s how these Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls came to be using leftover roasted chicken. They enjoyed it so much that I began picking up deli chicken to make them as a grab-and-go meal. It worked like a charm and has now become one of our favorites.
How to Make the Best Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls Recipe
These rolls aren’t difficult to make and they’re certain to become a family favorite for snacking on game day or quick casual meals.
- Ingredients you’ll need to make Easy Chicken Bacon Ranch Pull Apart Rolls: One package of 12 count potato rolls, thinly sliced deli chicken, Ranch dressing, crumbled bacon, colby jack cheese, melted butter, fresh chives, garlic salt, grated Parmesan cheese.
- Kitchen tools you’ll need: A sharp knife and cutting board, baking pan, measuring cups and spoons, a small microwave safe bowl, pastry brush and cheese grater.
- You can also use Hawaiian sweet tolls or any similar size pull apart rolls for this recipe.
- I use deli chicken for this recipe for ease of preparation. That said, you can use leftover grilled chicken, roasted chicken, rotisserie chicken or shredded chicken breasts with excellent results.
- You can adapt using your favorite flavor of cheese or what you have on hand. The colby jack combination is a stellar option, when using it you can never go wrong.
- Since these gooey rolls are designed to be pulled apart, it’s important to use crumbled bacon in place of whole pieces so they can be pulled apart more easily.
- Feel free to use light butter, low fat cheese and light salad dressing to lower the calories, I’ve found they work beautifully, too.
- These rolls can be assembled in advance, covered with plastic wrap and chilled. Doing so will have them ready to be baked when you’re ready to eat.
- When making in advance, brush with melted butter and season the top per the recipe just before baking.
- You can serve them with a side of fresh vegetables and extra Ranch dressing for dipping to round out a scrumptious handheld meal.
- Another way to enjoy this flavor combination are these BLT Ranch Chicken Wraps from Taste and Tell for a quick lunch.

Would Rotisserie Chicken work instead of deli sliced chicken? Would the taste be different
Sure, any cooked chicken will work, no problem.
Quick, easy and delicious!
These were so good.🥰 My son would eat these everyday.Very easy to make too.
Thanks Tammy, mine would, too. ☺
Delicious!! An excellent one for dinner or parties. They save well as leftovers too, so snacks for days! My only tip is that you double the amounts of basically everything except the chicken and the rolls (unless you want to of course), especially for the sauce.
Can you substitute regular buns for potato rolls?
Sure, or Hawaiian rolls, your favorite.
Can these be prepared a night in advance and baked the next day?
Sure, no problem. Just wait and brush the exterior with butter just before baking.
Love these. I’ve always made these with sliced ham and sprinkling with poppy seeds. Never thought about using chicken or another meat, but awsome idea. Thanks!
Are these freezer friendly?
Yes, you can freeze them, sure.
Made this last night. SO EASY, FAST and DELICIOUS! Will definitely be making these again in the near future! Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Great recipe, family loved them. Thank you
Thanks so much!
Are there any other types of cheese you could use I’m not sure if my family likes Colby
You can use any flavor you like, the sky’s the limit.
Love your recipes!
Thanks so much!
Simple yet well prepared and fulfilling. Definitely a winner. And can be substituted or additions made alike.
I made this tonight except I used chicken not deli chicken
I just sliced them thin
Them followed the recipe the rest
They were Awesome
I made these for a family gathering to celebrate my parents’ birthdays. I followed the recipe exactly how it’s posted in this blog and they came out PERFECTLY. I made three batches to serve 11 adults and only 3 little sandwiches remained. They were a huge hit and my sisters found the pin on my Pinterest board so they could make this too. It was so easy to make, easy cleanup, and delicious.
I love it! Thanks so much, I’m delighted your family loved these as much as we do.
I just made these, and they turned out phenomenal, but is there a way to keep the bottom of the rolls soft, or is there maybe a mistake I made? Thanks!
Hi Trevor, I’m glad you liked these! The bottoms should toast a bit while baking but, shouldn’t be too hard. Maybe try placing them on parchment and making sure your rack is centered in the oven. You could also try placing them in aluminum foil and bringing it partly up the sides just enough to protect the bottoms while baking.
Do you think you could make them the night before and refrigerate overnight befor baking them?
Absolutely yes, I’ve done this many times.Just wrap in plastic wrap and wait to brush the exterior with butter just before baking. I usually just cover the butter and pop it in the fridge then zap it in the microwave to melt.
Has anyone prepared ahead and froze them? Need to make for a large gathering! Wondering how they do
Hi Melanie, I haven’t. I’m wondering if you mean assemble them and then thaw and bake? It may work if you wait to put the ranch on just before serving. If you try it come back and comment.
Sliders are the best go to quick meal. My family loved these ones! I used shredded chicken instead of deli. Will be added to the rotation. Thank you
Great, glad you enjoyed!
These were quick, easy, and amazing! These were gone within 5 minutes. The only thing I did differently is substitute potato rolls for sweet Hawaiian rolls. I would definitely make these again.
Does prepared Ranch salad dressing mean the store bougth bottled ranch salad or does it mean using the packaged mix and adding what it call for? Thanks
You can make your own but, using a bottle of your favorite Ranch dressing is what is being referred to.
easy and wonderful for the super bowl
These are so good! I made a couple of adjustments. I used Hawaiian rolls and put the ranch dressing in a bowl on the side as a few people aren’t fans of warm ranch dressing. Now matter how many I make, I never have any leftovers! My mouth is watering just thinking about them while I write this.
